We amplify the voices of underrepresented and often marginalized people and ensure that public policy addresses the needs of all people by crafting solutions that include and prioritize the concerns of these constituencies in the development and implementation of policy. We specialize in engaging communities, organizations, and policy-makers on a range of issues of concern to diverse stakeholder groups. These include:

Health:

We engage policy-makers in critical dialogue and problem solving on the impact of health disparities and questions of access, equity, and fairness among and across diverse population groups.

Income Security:

We examine the issues related to income supports, food security, social insurance programs, and entrepreneurship to improve economic security for vulnerable populations and places special emphasis on the unique challenges facing seniors’ health and economic security as they age, such as retirement, loss of income, and rising health related costs.

Education:

We develop creative solutions that strengthen the public education pipeline so that young people can graduate ready for life and the 21st century global economy.

Environment:

From climate change and environmental justice to zoning and developmental approaches, We address issues affecting the natural, physical, and built environments and the important determinants of human health and well-being.

Civic Engagement:

We  emphasize participation as the key to mobilizing citizens to serve as advocates on behalf of people, communities and the environment. We work to ensure that community members are best positioned to leverage their personal power to affect social change through knowledge of how to access and interact with government at all levels.

CGPS continues to focus on the impact of the challenges in these issue areas on vulnerable populations, such as women, youth, low-income communities, elderly individuals, and communities with unique place-based challenges, such as urban and rural areas. Our staff is experienced in working with and serving diverse audiences through programs that facilitate adult learning, consensus building, policy development, and strategic agenda setting for underrepresented groups.
